Hi, I am having a problem with my text. I am using comic sans true text and in some drawings it appears all blobby and thick. I have not changed any of my settings but all of a sudden I have barely readable text. I am using acad 2004.

TTF fonts do that when they are at a Z height other than zero. Flatten command (if you installed Express Tools) can fix it as can PROPERTIES command.

Hi. I tried to change the z coord. to zero but it was already at zero and I don't have express tools. Thanks, Thomas

I have found that TrueType fonts can look "fat" when given a width factor other than 1, whether narrower or wider.  If yours have altered width, they may look clunky on-screen, but they plot normally, in my experience.

Hi Kent1Cooper,

The width factor is set to one aready. It is weird only some drawings have it. Thanks, Thomas

Don't assume it is zero: highlight it and actually type 0. Properties may be masking the level of accurancy based on he file's settings.

Do you not have express tools accessible to install? You need to use FLATTEN command, that's the better cure: there are other 'flatten' freebies all over the internet you can use too https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=flattten+lisp+routine
