Text, buttons, and command bar out of proportion

I cannot get the command window to resize dynamically because once it's docked, it seems to default to show several lines of history, even though when I undock it, I drag the window to show only a single line of command window history.  There must be a setting that I'm missing that is defaulting to a really large command window that I do not want.  How do I reset how many lines are shown of the command window history?

F2 toggles the history window, docked or undocked. Are you seeing something else? Then show us screenshots.

Hi and Welcome to AutoDesk ,

Try to hoover your mouse over the area (see attached) till the mouse cursor shape changed, then you can resize command window.

I (finally!) learned that the Command window can only be resized when it's at the bottom of the screen.  When it's docked at the top (where I keep it), it cannot be resized dynamically.  This is surely an oversight by the engineers designing the user interface.

Really?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
