When trying to open an AutoCAD file I get the following message:

'All of the possible directories for storing temporary files either do not exist or are read only.  Please correct this situation before running AutoCAD again.'

I have rebooted my computer.

It was working fine yesterday

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

The only fix that I am certain works for all the cases I have encountered, is to create a new user account on your computer with administrator permissions.  Please give this a trial run and let me know the results.

I downloaded and install a 30 day trial edition of AutoCAD and I am getting this same error.  I read the article in the link provided, how do I access the AutoCAD command line?  Also creating a new administrator account for me is a non Starter.

With a drawing in the software open, you will have access to the commandline

I get this message when trying to open AutoCad.  The software will not open.

Hi @Anonymous,

Try creating a new Windows User, log on with the new account and the application should launch and run properly.

if your pathing is still set to default, you can open File Explorer and type %temp% in the address bar, which will then open up the temp directory.  If you've changed the paths of the temp directory from default, you would need to locate that revised path to clear its contents.
