I have 2 tables that read each other on a template. all field have number values (as an example). when i update text require all other values/fields update after i regen. when i copy the template on the same drawing (all work is on model space) it wont update to new values. is there a setting or system variable to change. Half of the drafter have no problem with the template.

I don't want to change profiles. too many drafter to do that

HI @3arizona,

To better understand this issue where table fields are not updating, is it possible to attach your template and also make a quick Screencast video that shows your process?

Without seeing this I wonder if it is not better to store the data in a spreadsheet and use a datalink.

see attached file.  I don't have video.

Open file and update all numbers in yellow, this works. Issue only happens when copied

*note: A few dafter have no issues.

Hi @3arizona,

It appears that the formula is grabbing the specific cell in the specific table where the formula was originally created. You would either have to change the formula when you paste into a new drawing or I would suggest considering putting it all in one table which should eliminate the problem.

HI @3arizona,

Are you all on exactly identical versions of AutoCAD?  Does it behave differently if it is saved as a block and inserted into the drawing as opposed to using copy/paste?

Hi @3arizona,

You could set the pen color to 255,255,255 for the top part of the table. Did you try the INSERT method to see if behaves differently?

templates are set in Model Spade as 3 rows of 5 and copy as needed. no need to insert everything on a dwt file

Hi @3arizona

I am sorry if I was not clear. I am suggesting that you make the table(s) a block and insert them instead of having them in a template file.

John,

Fields behave the same when copied on inset. It has to be a system variable. i checked Fields under OPTIONS/Users Preferences and it's all good.

thanks for your time

Hi @3arizona,

Can you make a Screencast showing how this works for those lucky users?  I would like to make sure that I am doing the same thing you are.

JOHN,

I could not find a solution to the the 2 tables reading each other after a copy was made. i erased all formulas and reinserted them with no luck.  i took your advice and combined both tables to one and used 252,252,252 color, for the no plot text.

pretty odd that some of us had no issues with the original setup.

thanks
