System variables

Hi.  I was hoping someone could help me.  I am having some issues selecting solid hatches and tables.  My issue is that I have to create a window in order to do either one of these things.  I know there is a system variable the I can change to allow the selection of either of these items by just simply clicking on them.  Does anyone know what variables I would need to change to make this happen?  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Make a video of the issue - use SCREENCAST , it's free.

BTW don't believe that there is such a magical sysvar. Sometimes selection solids is a headache in Autocad.

There is NO certain system variable that can help !! you're talking about a technical way to get solid hatche and tables. foe solid hatch you have to get edges and the center of the solid hatch to get it . can you attache here CAD .dwg sample for testing ?

Below is a gif.  As you can see, I am unable to select the hatch nor the table by just one click, I am forced to use a window to select them.  There is a system variable to allow either to be selected by just a click.  I had modified the variable on my last computer but am unable to remember what the variable is on my current computer.  Both machines were running Autocad 2021.

I was able to figure it out.  If you change PICKAUTO to 5, you can select the hatch or table with a single click rather than a window.  My value for this was previously at 3.

As matter of fact, it's bit 2 of PICKAUTO that makes a difference. Bit 4 (lasso) does not matter. So the solution could be setting 1 or 5 for PICKAUTO. Didn't know this one. Thx for this finding.

In the OPTIONS dialog, it's this one:
