Suggestions Box?

Didn't there used to be a suggestions box type of thing on here where you could send along good ideas for potential future upgrades?  I have a genius idea that would save a heap of time, and nowhere to send it to  😞

Any ideas what to do with such things, or could you tell me how to access the suggestions box if one does still exist?

Thanks,

MarkF

I remember asking about such a thing, but there used to be an actual button on the main page, linking you directly to it.  I don't see that button anymore, so thanks for the link!!

While I have your attention, and you being in the know as you are, let me run the idea by you to see what you think, or perhaps you can tell me if it already exists.

I currently work for a windows company (large see-thru glass objects, not a Microsoft venture), drawing lots of large rectangles (for the most part), so the majority of what I draw are large visual area objects (several to many feet in size), but the framing is only 2", and the details on the framing only fractions of an inch.  So my thought, to save constantly zooming in and out at every intersecting point of the frame, to insure I'm snapping to the correct point instead of the point 1/4" away from it, is to show a zoomed pop-up box in one corner of the screen, let's say approximately 1"x1" or whatever (also depending on monitor size, obviously) that shows which snap point is being highlighted for selection.  And as I move the mouse pointer, it would act just as if I had zoomed in, and would subsequently move to highlight the next snap point.  The box would then disappear once the need to show a snap point was no longer required.  Kind of like having a model viewport whose visual content showed a 1"x1" box around the crosshair.

Thoughts...?

Sebastian - where is the IDEA section?

And yes, patience is a virtue, alas, not possessed by many these days.

Everything except the ubiquitous plain AutoCAD has an IDEA forum here (mostly because 90% of the time misunderstanding the program s the only issue)

Hi @MarkFitz

Another way to submit feedback is to join the beta community here.

Have a look at Dynamic Zoom. I’ve met a couple of guys that were really good at it. It might be what you are looking for.

I went here, but there's no Ideas box for regular AutoCAD, so I posted under ACAD Electrical, and was told that this is not the right place to post my idea and I should post it under the regular ACAD forum...

Stuck in a catch 22 scenario...

And...    now that I just read your fine print, I see you already told me that.  Sorry, a little too fast, headfirst.

My idea got a few likes though, so it would appear valid at least...

You probably should be looking at other ways to navigate your drawings. Wouldn't it make sense to put your efforts into learning rather than trying to get a new feature which probably won't happen?
