Dear all

Iwould like to 3D print a model with colour and textures from an Autocad model.

I have added materials to mi model (from the material catalog included in autocad). But when I export my model to *.stl and preview it in the web site of my 3D printing supplier I cannot see the textures or coulours.

I do not know what I am doing wrong, could you please be so kind and help?

Thansk!!!

As far as I know STL is geometry-only: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STL_(file_format)

So start HELP in AutoCAD, type STL, and read what is and isn't created in that format. There is no mention of color or materials. I'll get you started here from R2016 http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2016/ENU/?guid=GUID-250152B2-7CA2-4F22-8A47-7F74FEBF6FAD

Ask your 3D Printing Supplier about formats that better address/service your needs, you might have to purchase a 3rd party application after all.

Thanks a lot. I should have checked a bit more... I have solved the issue using Meshmixer to colour my model
