Startup Bug in 2017

I changed my STARTUP system variable to "2" so that I wouldn't have to deal with "Drawing1" all of the time. After doing so though, I can no longer open a drawing from my recent documents list without getting a fatal error "Unhandled Delayload 'RegisterToday.dll' Module not found." I have to start a blank drawing first, then close it, then select the drawing I want from my recent drawings list. I may as well just change my STARTUP variable back to the default "3" and keep dismissing Drawing1 everytime I launch Autocad. This has to be a bug.

Put it back since you seem to have to deal with it anyway: what about the other settings options for STARTUP? I'm unable to repeat it here, was something else changed as well that I missed?

Yeah I already changed it back of course. The other three values [0, 1, 3] all seem to work fine, although I'm having trouble distinguishing the difference between 0 & 3.

It's curious that you can't reproduce the error on your machine -- no nothing else was changed, only the STARTUP sysvar value. I'm actually using Map 3D not plain Autocad, and have a permanent license on my machine as opposed to either a network license or one of the new rentals. I wonder if there's anything different there that might cause it to work for you but not me.

Bug was confirmed by Autodesk support and forwarded to development team for a fix. Now awaiting SP1 to see whether or not this makes it in.

One other issue I noticed with the "2017 StartUp bug" is even though the setvar is set to "0", when you close the last open file, it reverts back to the Get Started (or Startup page) vs. going to the blank grey screen as in the 2015 versions.  This screen really lags on some of the older machines (I know, you don't have to say it - time to upgrade the systems - 😜 )

Also just so people know, even though the prior post is my "first post" according to the forum administrators, I have been an AutoCAD user/manager since the first version being one of the original BETA tester using every version since then.  (I have just changed my email account which has since reset me to a new user.)
