SSM 'Resave all sheets' claims all sheets are read only

Hello all,

I am struggling greatly with this. .DST files created in the default location do not exhibit this issue, but any sheet sets created using my template file do not allow for resaving all sheets (to update my fields in my drawing title blocks) and claim that the files are all read only. My filesystem settings show that my user has full ownership of the files, and they can be opened and saved at will (along with not having the 'read only' attribute checked in the file properties).

Has anyone experienced this before?

Check the permissions of the files and folders.

Permissions are all correct.

Any sheet sets that I create, located anywhere on my PC, exhibit the same behavior. The only exception is sheet sets created to be templates located in the default sheet set template location.

The dwg files that AutoCAD claims are read-only are not, they can be modified and saved by me at will.

Here are the ways to open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help, I suspect you are well beyond remote help where none of us can tap into your PC:

Seeing very similar symptoms on my set up. Did a support case ever get created or a resolution found??

Saves are being done on a network location.

I never recieved any resolution. Unrelated to this issue my workplace replaced my work laptop, and the issue is no longer present on the new machine. I wish I had a better answer for you.

Here is a link that this was talked about a little while ago.

One quick test, Copy all files needed to the DOWNLOAD folder. Even the Sheet Set your using.

Open the CAD file there and see if you can SAVE ALL there. If so, you have a rights issue or your working over the internet and it is a loading issue through Sharepoint or some other setup you are using (I am betting that is the issue). If so, login to your Office 365 after logging into your computer. Then open AutoCAD. That worked for my computer.

Here is the link: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/remote-connection-help/m-p/13845691#M355612

Hope this helps!

Thanks, JRR!

Andy,

try a quick test, (I had said that in comment number 7).

Close AutoCAD. Copy all files needed to the DOWNLOAD folder. Even the Sheet Set your using.

Then in the DOWNLOAD folder you made, open the Sheet Set. See if there is a lock now.

If not, read solution 7 above.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, JRR!

I just ran into this problem as well. It's definitely a cloud-share issue on my end. I'm practically forced to use the one-drive that came with my machine and I kinda hate it. Anyways, I typically use google drive to manage my project files, but I have a larger than usual project and wanted to use a local paradigm to prevent the lag that comes with dropping views on sheets across the internet. . . It worked well until I tried to "Resave All Sheets". Tried the ./downloads/ folder as recommended, it didn't help.

Solution for me:
Copied the project to the cloud like I would have used before and "Resave All Sheets" is currently doing it's thing.

Maybe I'm that guy, but this feels intentional.
