Source objects are not displaying when moving or stretching

I am selecting a group of objects to move or stretch. I select my first point and then am moving to my second point and the original objects are not displaying. The current position for the objects based on the second point are displaying based on the DRAGMODE setting but the original locations are completely gone.

They original location used to be displayed (dimmed) which enabled me to easily select a point within the selection set to move to.

I need to know what variable is controlling the display of the original location of the selected object.

These selections also do not change the situation. The selected objects are displayed as they are being moved but the original location is not there.

What is your DRAGMODE set to?

I set mine to Auto.

I have tried DRAGMODE at On, Off and Auto. All have the same affect in relation to the original location of the elements.

Highlight is set to 1. Changing it does not affect the issue.

Hi,

>> I am selecting a group of objects to move or stretch. I select my first point and then am moving

Do you start command _MOVE or do you just select click-and-hold the left mouse button to move the object?

More interesting for me is if that happens when explicitly starting the command.

Also interested in: which AutoCAD version do you have and which service pack is installed, as well as which operating system are you on?

A more global check is to turn off the hardware acceleration (command _GRAPHICSCONFIG) and see if that happens again.

It happens whether I run the move command first or select the items first.

Turning hardware acceleration off does not help.

It appears to be an issue with the color configuration. I set the uniform background to whit or black and I can see the original objects. They are a dark grey that was evidently too close to the background color that I had selected which made them appear invisible. I can't seem to isolate the setting for the color being applied to these original objects though. I would like to keep my background color, which is comfortable for my eyes and instead change the color of the ghost original objects.

Set it to whatever color you like between 1 and 255. Smiley Wink
