SOLID HATCH NOT PRINTING

I'm having an issue getting solid hatches in model space to print. 

Example:

This is how it looks in paperspace:

This is what I get in the print preview, and when I publish to pdf:

I've looked through the forums, but haven't found anything to solve this issue.

Hi,

I suggest to check your PLOT tab status from LAYER command . it should be a printable layer . 

Plot 

Controls whether the selected layers are plotted. If you turn off plotting for a layer, the objects on that layer are still displayed. Layers that are off or frozen are not plotted, regardless of the Plot setting.

I've fought this problem, and found two solutions. 

In some cases, the pdf will still print to paper with the hatches, but will not display in a pdf viewer or will have weird  vectors through what should be a solid color. I found that at least in adobe there is a setting around vectors that can be turned off to display correctly. I have too many users of my pdfs for that to be viable. 

So I experimented, and found that gradient does not have the display problems. Its slower, but simply change the hatch to gradient, and assign the same color for both color options.  The pdf file size grows considerably, but pdf viewers read it correctly. 

Hope that helps, it took me a hell of a lot of time to sort out for my purposes.

I have had some issues resolve by changing how I choose to create my PDF.  I found that sometimes when I choose Publish using Page Setup Override (from the Sheet Set Manager) I get unsatisfactory results.

I found that I get superior results by opening the Publish Dialog and creating my PDF.

I cannot explain why it produces a much better result but it consistently does.

If you are not using the Publish Dialog, even if you are also not using the SSM, try using the Publish Dialog and see if it makes a difference.

I managed to get it to work, but I don't know exactly what I did for it to show up. I went on to do something else, then came back to it and it worked🤷‍♂️. If it happens again, I'll be more diligent to ID the trigger.
