Slow Loading IN AutoCAD LT 2019

When I'm in AutoCAD LT 2019, it takes a few minutes for the Application to open Folders for me to choose which DWG to open, then it takes another few minutes for it to actually execute the opening of the DWG. However, when I double click the DWG in my File Explorer (Operating on Windows 10), AutoCAD immediately opens the file.

I have the DWGs on an external hard drive connected to a different Computer.  Is there some way I can tell AutoCAD to prioritize pathways to make the opening of the DWGs faster? My computer has 32GB of RAM and Processing with an Intel Core i7 CPU @ 3.6 GHz.

The Computer that is hard wired to the External Hard Drive experiences no sluggishness with AutoCAD LT 2019 opening files directly from the Application.

AutoCAD will ask the O/S to find anything it needs in any referenced path. If some of those paths include slow network locations, slow removable drives, etc. - then it gets translated to what you're seeing.

Also check the places bar (left column) in the file dialog for pointers to missing drives or paths.

Also, not a huge deal in this case since application i/o is the same, but there is a dedicated AutoCAD LT forum.

This combo may also be a contributing factor as well from your computer: how are you connected to it exactly?

The issue actually isn't linked to that aspect of the connection, it's actually AutoCAD LT itself.

But I have no idea how to follow the steps the solution calls for.  I'm also going to wait for our IT rep to see if we need to just uninstall and reinstall the Application.

AutoCAD LT does not have profiles IIRC (right @pendean  ?) - so you won't be able to export or import ARG files. Not that this matters, because it sounds like all they are doing in that other thread is resetting the profile back to stock OOTB settings.
