sketchup model to autocad not a solid

I've created a drawing in Sketchup, and according to Sketchup it is a solid.

I have exported it in to DWG format. When I open it in Autocad, it tells me it is not a solid.

What am I doing wrong? I am new to Autocad and trying to teach myself.

Using Autocad 2019

Attached both files

Thank you!

Hi,

Only dwg file is attached.

I opened your dwg file and find that the object imported to AutoCAD as a Block.  Usually IGES files from vendors import as Blocks.

I Explode the Block, as I do with vendor models.  I find that you have thousands of objects, including over 6900 Polyface Mesh objects.  These Mesh objects are surfaces and not solids so I question the export from Sketchup.

I isolated all of the mesh objects on their own layer and turned all other objects off.

I attempted to convert all mesh objects to a solid but the process fails.

The mesh looks OK but obviously some issues.  I'll play a little more.

Maybe the attached file will help you.

(I exported to Inventor, stitched to solid and reimportetd into AutoCAD).

I tried attaching the skp. file but it wouldn't let me. I tried again and no success.

Maybe this file type is not allowed here. Pack it into a zip and upload this.
