Sketch block with ERP/Item no. and BOM

Hi,

If I dubbed a sketch block with an ERP no. For instance 12345678

Would it be possible to somehow indicate that in the BOM on the drawing?

Lets say I have added 2 of the same sketch blocks to my drawing. What I would like for the BOM to then say is:

Qty,           Item Number

2               12345678

Like Inventor can do with its parts.

Im not sure there is an easy way to achieve this out of the box.

BCOUNT will give you a number if you want to populate manually

DATAEXTRACTION can also give you a count

You look into third party scipts and lisps as well like this one http://www.cadig.com/products/autocad-field.php

So you can't make AutoCAD's BOM count objects automatically like Inventor?

Hi @Anonymous,

Core AutoCAD does not include a BOM feature. However, if you are using blocks with attributes you can create a table using data extraction that does basically the same thing.

I made a quick video to show this process.
