Sheetset Manager causes delays while drafting

Working remotely, while drafting with Sheetset manager open, the blue Windows "working" spinning toroid pops up and prevents further work until it stops. This pops up for about 10 seconds at a time and at intervals as short as 40 seconds.  Task manager shows no unusual activity.   Pretty sure it is a network sync issue,  This has not always been the case but it has happened at a different company on different hardware.  Anybody else experience this?

Thank You for your time,

Eric

Check the file paths in SSM. Make sure they have access to all the folder locations.

You can also try playing around with the SSMSHEETSTATUS and SSMPOLLTIME system variables. Setting SSMSHEETSTATUS to zero will turn off the autorefresh completely and SSMPOLLTIME allows you to set the time interval between refreshes if you choose to keep it on.

Sure sounds like an IT issue, assuming your remote location up/down speeds are a match to the office network: if not, it might just be local to you.

Use the Event Viewer to check for any system errors or warnings. Look for patterns related to the spinning cursor. If you don't see anything it's likely a network issue such as the data bouncing far between cloud servers or other. VPNs and firewall restrictions would mark remote work slower too.
