hello, I'm using AutoCad and have Sharefile as the data storage system.

I'm having issues with lock-ups, corrupt files, and lots of down time.

is anyone else having these issues?

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I have not used that specific cloud storage option before. Please tell me though, are you working directly in the "cloud" folder? Or, are you working in a local folder that gets synchronized with the cloud one? I would suggest the latter or perhaps even adding another local location to work in and then copy your files to the sync folder.  That way you would theoretically have there copies of the files.

Hi John,

i am working through a synced "drive" folder, the actual "on-line" versions are really rough to work with.

I noticed another conversation you had with someone asking about PDF size, the issue I had today was a rather large PDF file.

but it seems to be an ongoing issue with PDF xrefs. Sharefile seems to go to "sleep" and wont sync up, autocad locks up, and trying to save does the same thing. sometimes corrupting the file. A ".bak" file doesn't seem to be created, and the temporary save files remain, it's really complicated to try and explain

Are you trying to use the SYNC folder as a way to share files and edits "live" with other users? That's not a good use of any cloud service with AutoCAD.

BTW, CItrix Sharefile support addresses this issue on their support forums, here are a few topics to read https://www.google.com/search?q=sharefile:+sync+folder+sync+stops+working

HI @Anonymous,

Are you able to use all your AutoCAD files in a locally stored folder properly? If that is the case, I suggest that you contact Sharefile or review their support forums as Dean suggests.
