Hello all,

I moved from Acad 2009 to Acad 2024.  Issue is that when I am in the layer manager and select several layers to change several properties like, color, lineweight, linetype, on/off etc.  Once I change a property of the multiple layers, Acad deselects the layers, thereby requiring me to re-select the layers and make another change.  This can be a time suck annoyance if I am doing this several times.  If I use "Classiclayer" and bring up the old layer manager this annoyance does not occur. Autodesk's AI is not helpful with this.  Not really looking for a work around like making filters or such as this is just a working tool and permanent filters are not needed.  Often the layers are not next to each other.  I'd prefer not to use the classic manager.

Help is appreciated, RMM

Never seen that, wonder if something else may be going on: can you share with us a video of you in action doing this so we can follow along and see your actions and your AutoCAD environment?

The attached video shows three selections with changes ending in premature deselection.  The last selection and change Stayed selected.  I tried to find the commonality with no results.  Seems random, most likely not.  My technician in the next room is experiencing the same thing.

@RMM-GEODECA Can you (and your technician adjacent) run your AutoCAD in a profile WITHOUT the Carlson product you have and see if your issue goes away?

A screenshot of your AutoCAD's ABOUT command pop-up may be worth sharing here too.

You never mentioned "carlson", and no one here in my office runs that either: none of us have your issue in LAYER command in AutoCAD 2023-24-25.

I have a version of ACAD 2025, the problem does not exist, must be Carlson.  I will contact their support.  I think I will call this resolved for the moment.  If anything comes up I'll tag a post

Thank you!
