Hello Autodesk Community,

I'm currently exploring the integration of AI-based laptops into my workflow and am seeking advice on models that offer optimal performance with Autodesk applications, particularly AutoCAD and Revit.

Key Considerations:

  • AI Capabilities: I'm interested in laptops equipped with advanced AI features to enhance design processes.
  • Performance: The laptop should handle complex 3D modeling and rendering tasks efficiently.
  • Compatibility: Ensuring seamless operation with Autodesk software is crucial.

Questions:

  • Compatibility: Has anyone used an AI-based laptop with AutoCAD or Revit? Are there any compatibility issues or performance insights you can share?
  • Hardware Suggestions: What specifications should I prioritize for the best Autodesk software experience?
  • AI Enhancements: Have you noticed any AI-powered features that improve workflow efficiency in Autodesk applications?

I appreciate any insights or recommendations from the community! Your experiences with an AI based laptop in design and rendering tasks will be invaluable in helping me make the best choice.

Thanks in advance!

Just get a normal laptop with a good GPU and enough RAM.
'AI based' laptops will not increase your workflow any more than a normal laptop can.. Any laptop can use GPT, Co pilpot, gemini... any LLM.
And don't expect AI to magically use autocad for you, technology isn't there yet.

@alinawilliams232 You are about 10+ years too early for the AI CAD revolution. Sorry.

Most AI-based laptops, such as those with Intel Core Ultra or NVIDIA RTX AI features, should run Autodesk applications well, as long as they meet the software’s minimum and recommended requirements. AI-accelerated tools in Revit and AutoCAD are still limited, so the biggest benefits come from hardware performance rather than AI-driven enhancements.
