Screen fuzzy, only in autoCAD

So I got a new computer at work, and with it came AutoCAD 2020 (Formerly on 2016) but the monitors are still the same. I've updated all my drivers and still end up with a fuzziness on all of my autocad window. Here is what I have:

pair of Asus VE278 monitors

Intel I7-8700 CPU @ 3.2Ghz

32 GB Ram

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6Gb Video Card

Windows 10

PC runs fine other than this one issue and it gives me a headache. Here is a screen shot. Does anyone have any ideas? Turning on or off Hardware graphics doesn't make a difference or the smoothing of lines.

What windows resolution are you running?
And what are the stock standard resolution on the screens meant to be?

I'm running 1920x1080 at 60hz, and that's the native resolution of the monitors.

Hi,

strange effect, first thought was some (pseudo) optimizer inside the graphic card settings. Maybe resetting these could help.

From what I see ... it seems only to be the text and only inside the start-window.

The menu and caption text of the application window looks ok.

How does it look like when you open a drawing file with some geometry and text?

I know you said it was only in AutoCAD but I would close all programs and go through the Adjust Clear Type text setup in Windows.  I turned clear type off and got the same fuzziness you are seeing.

Here is a view with a file open and a few other things on the desktop.

the text doesn't really become an issue in drawings, but the lines all look like they are a half degree out of parallel. I get a solid colored line with a slight shadow. I did not get that before.AUTOCAD SOME FUZZY.png

I went and played with this setting, it did some screen testing with me, Seemed to make it look better in drawing, But I also ended up with the attached in the open screen. If I move the mouse around, it goes away, but then when I move back to the bottom it slowly expands out again.AUTOCAD EXTRA FUZZY.png

Hi,

>> but the lines all look like they are a half degree out of parallel.

Does not see this in your screenshot.

>> I get a solid colored line with a slight shadow. I did not get that before.

Also this I can't see on your screenshot, which position in your screenshot do you see this?

Can you please start command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot of the dialog?
Same please with command _GRAPHICSCONFIG

Hi,

thank you for the screenshots, looking well both. One thing you can try is to start again command _GRAPHICSCONFIG and click ob button "Restore defaults", then "OK" and then restarting AutoCAD.

Do you have a second graphic card built in?

Do you have a different monitor (temporary) to change this

For the nVidia card (if it's the only graphic card in your workstation) you might start the nVidia control panel and then (sorry that the following words may not match correctly as I'm using the German version and have to translate the words)

  • open "3D settings"
  • inside this click on "mange 3D settings"
  • use button "restore defaults"
  • now close the dialog and restart your workstation.

As a test, only a test: if your Windows was only set up to use one monitor does the problem go away in AUtoCAD?

Single monitor doesn't change it, another monitor doesn't change it.

I reset ACAD and the display driver back to defaults and still have the same thing. Thanks for helping.

I think it's time for a higher resolution monitor.

In addition to Alfred's last post suggestion... .Post a screenshot of your Windows Display Settings please, as well as the "advanced display settings".

And explain how the monitors are connected to the video card (what port, port type, how long a cable, are there multiple cables etc.).

Displays are connected by 5' HDMI cords to the video card, nothing else inline.  (Settings below are matching for each display)
