Screen flickering with AutoCAD 2023

Hello,

I have recently installed 2023 and noticed that the screen randomly "flickers" (for a lack of a better term).

The screen goes blank for a second or two.

It is possible it is occurring with Autosave, however, I have noticed it happens when I am not even at the keyboard.

I can be sitting off to the side reviewing something, then notice the monitor flashing off and back on again.

It got so annoying yesterday that I shut 2023 off and started up 2021 where I do not experience this issue at all with the previous version.

Anyone else getting this with 2023?

Thank you

Michael

Hi @mviscettoVGK6V,

This sounds like it could be due to graphics, resources, or configuration. See the following Autodesk Knowledge Network (AKN) articles for possible solutions:

AND...

Have you installed the 2023.0.1 Update yet? ABOUT command will confirm what you have installed. If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards.

If that did not help... Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD2023: reverting to DirectX11 may help too.

Also consider turning off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING variables: if still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort, does that help? If yes, start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained here and see if Autodesk Support has other options for you to try https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/support-options#:~....

Good morning Dean,

Thanks for your reply and suggestions.

As it turns out, I was running a third party add-in that was sucking up memory.

I uninstalled that and now I do not have the issue anymore.

Thank you for your suggestions, I will file away for future reference.

Michael
