Saving and PDF Multiple Profile

I have AutoCAD 2018. The problem I am running into is when I try to export a DWG to a PDF, instead of a "Save" button, mine says "Multiple profile for base sweep will create disjoint bodies".  Once I click on that button (that normally says SAVE) a dialogue box pops up that says "Select Loop". This problem also happens when I am saving a new DWG or doing a "save as".  I am trying to figure out why this option is coming up instead of just a "save" button.

Hi,

seems like some geometry items are defect.

You might try to

  • run command _AUDIT to see if there are defects
  • run command _BREP to check 3D-solids and clean their history
  • copy & paste objects to a new dwg-file

Does that help?

>> Multiple profile for base sweep will create disjoint bodies

Is that really the exact wording of the message? I can't find any other thread with that message.

Maybe you can show a screenshot of that info?

Thanks for the suggestions but AUDIT did not find any errors. And there are no 3D solids. Everything in the "Save Dialog box" is exactly how it should be except the actual "save" button. That is where is says "Multiple profile for base sweep will create disjoint bodies".(1st Picture) If I click it, then a second box pops up asking to "Select Loop" (2nd picture).

Hi,

please don't use your email application to reply when you want to send files (like your screenshots).

Use your Internet browser, login to the forum, and use the reply button in your thread, there you have a field for adding attachments.

Hi,

No problem, don't worry about that 😉

>> And there are no 3D solids

Well, from the first message about "sweep" and "bodies" it sounds different.

I guess you can't upload the dwg-file as you can't save it?

What happens when you start command _WBLOCK and use option "Entire Drawing" ... does that succeed?

Also please start command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot from that dialog.

I am able to save the DWG., but when i try to export or "Save As" it doesn't work.  Just wondering why it says " multiple profile for base sweep will create disjoint bodies" instead of "save".

Hi,

are you really using AutoCAD (Vanilla), the message in the last screenshot looks more like from a vertical product.

Please start command _ABOUT and show us a screenshot! It is also interesting if your version is as old as needing to save to AutoCAD 2010 format (which is 10 years old, so some items might not be able to be converted back, depending on the version of AutoCAD you are currently using)

>> but when i try to export

Please, instead of running command _EXPORT to create a PDF use command _PLOT (to "DWG to PDF.pc3") or _PUBLISH to create a PDF file from your current drawing/layout(s).

Hi,

thank you for the screenshot, so

1) please install updates, your AutoCAD has not installed any update, it should show "2018.1.2" as shown in my screenshot

20190717_233408_0001.png

2) please don't save back to a DWG-version 10 years old. When using _SAVEAS then use the current file-format "DWG-2018" ... does _SAVEAS work then? If that does not work (after you installed the lates update) then please upload the file so we can test it on our workstations.

When you want to save data back to such an old version please use command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD

3) did my suggestion to use _PLOT work and you got valid PDF-files?
