Are you just missing the pop-up?

What does the comamndline show when you do SAVEAS?

Yes, the pop-up is missing.

The comamndline doesn´t show anything. It doesn´t appear the classical window to save the job.

You may try the following

  • Copy this to command line and click enter key. Then try saveas again.
(setvar "filedia" 1)

Note: I don't think this is the cause as AutoCAD is just installed and the value of filedia should be 1 by default. However, it is worth to try.

  • You may also press F2 key to turn on command/text window.
  • Do you use multiple screens? If this is the case, check any message on other screen.

Hi,

from post 11:

>> The comamndline doesn´t show anything

from previous post:

>> The problem was FILEDIA. It was in 0

SCNR: then your command-line asked for a filename after you started command _SAVEAS!

AutoCAD is communicating with the user, to see the command-line is most important to identify the current state of AutoCAD. If you can't see this (e.g. because of disabled command-line) you might lose important informations about your work.

Alfred, good day True, the command line was off. I activated it by clicking on VIEW - PALETTES. Is it necessary to make some other correction? Thank you very much for your invaluable help.

Hi,

>> Is it necessary to make some other correction?

Not if all is working as you expect it. 😉

I just wanted to mention the importance of the command-line for future readers ... also as it is necessary to get as much info's as possible (and correct info's) to be able to support you.
