Rotating using TORIENT

I ran the :TORIENT" command on my drawing and used the "MOST READABLE" option for the rotation angle.

This caused all of my text to flip 180 degrees. How does AutoCAD determine which orientation is most readable?

Hi,

Most Readable means that orients selected text objects to the most readable right-side-up,right-read orientation.

Rotates text, mtext, and attribute definition objects so that they end up being as close as possible to horizontal or right-read (similar to the behavior of dimension text). Objects are rotated about their middle point in 180-degree increments. For example, if the text is upside-down, it becomes right-side up after a TORIENT operation. Similarly, left-read text becomes right-read text. The overall object location is not changed. As an option, you can specify a new absolute orientation angle for all selected text objects.

Imad,

How can I tell what is the most readable orientation prior to running the TORIENT command?

My text was already readable and it still flipped it 180 degrees and it still flipped it upside down after the TORIENT command.

It sounds like the text is rotated based on the orientation of the dimension text.

Is there a way to set a default value for all the dimension text on the floor plan?
