Right Mouse Click Menu Action Recorder List Empty

A strange thing happened to me and I am not sure what caused it.

When I RMC and select Action Recorder/Play, the list is (Empty).

If I select the Manage Action Macros, I can see all my macros.

If I go to the Manage tab, the Macros are there and I can select them.

I have searched and cannot find anything like this in the forums.

The only thing that I can think of that I did recently was to enablethe Annotate tab to the ribbon bar but that should not have done this.

My .CUIX is modified, but I swapped it out for one from last year and the same thing happens.

I am really stymied by this.

I am running Autocad Electrical 2016 but this appears to be an Autocad issue (since it involves the Default Menu).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Bob,

The actions record file is saved at C:\Users\<current user>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2016\R20.1\enu\Support\Actions

If it do has action record, it will be listed in RMC > Actions Recorder > Play > ***. It should not be Empty.

From this point, I suspect the action record does not exist at your computer.

Could you try record a new one to check Play?

Jing,

Thanks for your reply and I am sorry it took so long to get back to you.

I did try recording a macro and I was able to start the recording but am unable to stop it. The "Stop" button is greyed out.

I did look in the path you suggested and it is empty but I was storing my macros to an alternate location and this is assigned in the "Options/Files/action Recorder Settings/Additional Actions Reading File Locations."

Any other suggestions?

I am able to run my Macros from the Manage/Action Recorder. I can also start recording a macro from here but am unable to stop recording. The only way so far is to close Autocad and restart.

Thanks,

Sorry for the delay responce as new version release.

As the path is empty, it means there is no macro recorded, that's the reason that recorder list is empty.

Could you record it at default path to check this function works or not?

If it works, then change the recoding path, copy the recorded macro to there to check it work or not.

After all are ready, go ahead to record.

I have the same problem. However, I can get it to stop using the "ACTSTOP" command. I can see them in the "Action Macro Manager", but when I RC>Action recorder>play it says "empty".  Any assistance would be really lovely.

Thank you,

Ashley

Jing,

In my personal experience of this issue I noticed when the issue occurred. The Action Recorder Failed to Record / Stop Recording and didn't show existing "Saved" Action Recorded Actions although they do exist. The Actions do show up in "Manage Action Macros".

FIX FOR ALL: Problem was the AutoCAD_SP1 update.

Go to Programs & Features or My Programs.

Click on AutoCAD 2016, then Select view installed updates.

Uninstall SP1 and you'll be good.

**I don't know if this effects any other fix that Autodesk has done, that's my only caution, but it has worked for me.

Thanks,

ACAD 2016 Update 1 installed at my desktop, but I have not viewed this issue. I am not sure it's that reason.

I am circling back to this because I still have this problem with 2020, 2021, and now 2022.

This is what the RMC looks like when I first start Autocad and try to access the Action Recorder to use an existing Macro.

If I click on Manage Action Macros, I see all the macros I have created.

If I then close and access the Action Recorder again, I can now see the Marcos in the list.

When I close ACAD and re-open it, I have to go through this all over again; each and every time.

These are my settings under Options/Files tab.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

I forgot to mention I am using Autocad Electrical 2022.
