Right Click Shortcut Menu & Quick Properties

So, everytime I start AutoCAD I have to change my settings for "right click shortcut menu" & "quick properties".  I prefer not to use the right click customization menu, but each time AutoCAD restarts I go to the tools menu > options select the User Preferences tab and uncheck the "Shortcut menus in drawing area" box.  It never keeps my setting.  Also, the quick properties box defaults to off.  I have to either "clrl+shift+P" or select the quick properties button at the bottom of the screen to turn it back on.  I have tried selecting the check box in the Drafting Settings, but it defaults to unchecked with each startup.  These are the only two things (that I know of) that reset themselves and won't remain true to my user settings.  I have saved the setting to my Workspace as well as created a user profile with my desired settings, but neither works.  Does anyone know what I am over looking or know how to fix this problem?  Thank you for your help.

Hi,

everytime you start AutoCAD or everytime after you logged out of Windows?

In first case I guess you don't have enough permissions to save the AutoCAD profile settings (or a security software blocks these settings to be saved).

In second case I guess you have server based Windows profiles and the synchronization is limited.

First try: create a new user on your workstation with admin-permissions, login with that user account, start AutoCAD and verify if this user account can save these settings.

Hi Alfred, thank you for your input.

Every time I start AutoCAD.  Regardless if I log off, or restart Windows the I have the same issue.

I am waiting on my IT guy to come look at my server settings and see if I can change my synchronization and get more admin permission.

Thanks

Hi,

>> Every time I start AutoCAD

That means you don't have enough permissions, either as user or something like antivirus is blocking you.

What happens, if you right-click onto the AutoCAD start icon and use "Start as administrator" from the context menu?

Well I was hopful for a moment.  It wasn't the solution though.  It still doesn't give me the user setting I want.

I believe you are correct in assuming a lack of permissions.  I have to wait for the IT guy to come change that.

I'll keep you posted.

Still no change.  IT guy spent 3 hours trying to change the permissions on my computer.  I have full administrative access but still don't have the ability to set the preferences and have them remain.  The possibility is that it's a Windows problem or maybe software that's been recently installed and it's causing a conflict.

If anyone else has any ideas I'm open.

Hi,

has he tried to create a new Windows user with admin permissions or did he only modify your existing account?
