Repeated Crash on AutoCAD 2014

The AutoCAD 2014 has been repeatedly crashing.  It seems random with no particular command or drawing to trigger the crash.  We have repaired and reinstalled the AutoCAD, but it didn't fix it.  Please help.  The error message and the system information are provided in the attachment.

Hi @mnpatric,

Please prepare an NFO file for me (instructions here)

While I suspect that this is a .Net error, it could also simply be a graphics driver issue.

Here is a link that discusses steps you might consider on the .Net side of this issue.

Here is an article that describes how to uninstall and then reinstall .Net.

Hi @mnpatric,

It looks like the driver you have for your graphics card is dated 11/20/2014. I suggest that you go to the manufacturer's site and get a current driver to see if that alleviates the crashing you have been seeing. Please post your results.

Thank you for the information. I don't know much about the hardware. What's the name of the driver? Could you provide me the step by step instructions to update the graphics card driver?

Hi @mnpatric,

Go to to this link. It has a button that will let them discover the exact card you have installed and then take you to a new driver. You can then download and run the file to have it install.

I am checking back to see if my post helped you with your problem or if you need additional assistance or information. Did the new driver helped to fix the problem? Please add a post with how you decide to proceed and your results so other Community members may benefit.

We have updated the display driver as you instructed, but the AutoCAD crashed again.  I would truly appreciate if you could assist us with our next step.  Thank you very much

As in my previous reply, updating the display drive did not solve the AutoCAD crashes.  Please advise the next step.  Thank you

Hi @mnpatric,

I apologize that I didn't see your last post.  Did you explore the .Net issues that I posted about at the top of this thread? That is likely the next step to investigate.

Another option might be to consider an upgrade to current product. You are welcome to give the Trial a go if that sounds like a possibility. It should not affect your current installation.

HI @mnpatric,

Have you had the opportunity yet to reinstall the .NET Framework? I am hoping to hear that this remedies your issue.

Yes, we reinstalled the .NET last week, and the AutoCAD 2014 hasn't been crashed, but our user hasn't used it much.  So we'll monitor.  Thanks

I have to uninstall .Net Framework 4.7 and install 4.5 every time I want to use Autocad 2014.

Microsoft claims it is Autodesk's fault that it does not work with 4.7

Is there a way to keep 4.7 from installing itself?

I posted the same question to Microsoft but got no answer.

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

The issue is apparently that a pre-relase of 4.6.2 doesn't get totally removed when 4.7 is installed. This breaks a bunch of programs (not just Autodesk ones) The solution is to remove 4.7 and then reinstall 4.6.2. After that you can install 4.7 and things should be fine.
