Glad you made it here: see how the OP has chosen an amazingly realistic brick face at the house and the intricate shadows around the windows, plus all the vegetation and their shadows? Adds to the realism.
The OP's control of lighting (multiple sources and levels) is also quite good.

just curious was that autocad 2013 with acurender or what is now nxtrender, or mental ray? very good lighting in these!

We were wondering what was the process or work flow required in order to achieve this amount of detail?

If there is a book on-line class or just simply using the rendering dialog box with some tweaking I'd appreciate the info.

Hi Jonathan,

Welcome to the AutoCAD Forums....Just wanted to follow up, and to be clear the answers is "NO"

Dean (pendean) has been helpful as far as showing examples of what can be done with the link to "Examples" but...

To be totally honest with you, there has been no real resolution other than the same answers we have seen on our own internal emails, or  our internal "ADG" sites.

I have been asking on this site since mid October 2016, and if you scroll through you'll see some really great renderings but no real "Steps, or Procedures". Usually someone has a specific answer and I'm still hoping for that to happen here. I have been reviewing the information that was sent internally from one of our colleagues (Jeff C.) within Siemens, and I still have the question on my own blog site (Tech-Info and Rants).

Based on what Jeff sent me, I do plan and posting a "True Resolution" when time allows me.

I'm hoping someone might get inspired and beat me to the punch.

It is just autocad 2013 with it's built-in render machine.

The bad thing is that you must have a very strong pc to be able to render with such settings.

I think I could post some screenshots with the settings used, but it mostly requires a very-very strong pc.

The outdoor renderings are completely default render settings with sun background & illumination turned on.

I'm sure we will find some sort of workaround. I'm going to do some more research using other programs. If I find anything worth sharing I'll make sure to email you. Appreciate the follow up!

Just thought I'd let you know one of my personal projects (The House Rendering) was able to be redone by Jeff (in our Siemens Graphics group).

I'm posting this up here to show you and the rest of the group following this thread it may a couple of issues.

1.) This seems to be very obvious, I just may not have a computer powerful enough to do the work that we may all soon be required to do.

2.) It also may have something to do with the settings...

Looking at how Jeff applied his settings, and me trying to get and apply the proper materials might be making a difference.

Hope to discuss more after I get back from my hiatus.

To the Group,

For those interested this is how things went with using Rendering: (See below)

And, as I stated, this is most likely due to not having the proper memory to do the rendering that is being asked for us to do...

It's obvious that the last rendering was the best... probably the only change  I might make would be to remove the reflective background on the bottom and use ground, or grass with shadows.

The main point is that this is something AutoCAD is obviously capable of doing with the proper setting and memory.

Just wanted to follow up with the group regarding "Renderings"...

Thank-you for all of your responses. In way, shape or form I believe this discussion has helped other users besides myself, with understanding the rendering process. I would hope or assume most of us are using something higher than AutoCAD2013 so with that being said, I’m just wondering if Autodesk has updated any of the “Rendering Templates” for AutoCAD?

This may be something I missed, since I haven’t used an Autodesk template in years. Even with using the newer versions of AutoCAD, (I’m on AutoCAD2017 now), most if not all of my drawings are created with an existing template that I use, or something my customers have provided. In the case when I originally asked the question:

As you all will see (refer to the pictures, or attachments) it seems the templates have not been updated in several years. Since Autodesk doesn’t have anything current perhaps there may be a 3rd party software that we are all not aware of or perhaps someone in the group may be willing to share or provide a step by step way to create our own templates?
