References - Not Found Files

Hi,

We currently run AutoCAD2013 and have since downloaded AutoCAD2019 (Trial) and have the same issue.

We get an error on some drawings to say 'One or more referenced files could not be located or read.  What do you want to do?'

The files open, but there are parts of the drawings missing.

It reads as if the drawing we have been sent over is missing another document that it's referencing?

If this is the case, does the end user need to do something to package it up before sending to us?

Could anyone clarify this for me, thanks.

Sounds like you are missing some necessary External Reference files (Xrefs).  I would request that the people who are sending you the files use the eTransmit command to bundle up all of the necessary reference files prior to re-sending you this data.

Tell whomever is sending you the files to "etransmit"  this will pack everything associated with the file into a nice .zip folder for you.
