Reference manager - batch rename xrefs

Hi all,

I am wondering if there is a faster way to do this tedious, time-consuming job.

At my workplace, when changing work (RIBA) stages, the protocol is to copy the files to a new folder and rename them accordingly. This is fine; this can easily be done in Explorer.

When moving and replacing files, all xref files lose their paths; I use Reference Manager to quickly change the paths - also great.

The 'problem' is that I have all xrefs pointing to the correct folder, but they are not showing because the file has been renamed (we only replaced 2 letters). 

I am wondering if there is a way to batch rename the internal xref name. I was hoping it would be possible in the reference manager, but I can't figure out how.

As far as I know, it wasn't possible in the previous versions; I am now on AutoCAD 2027. 

I hope there is an easier way of doing this that does not involve going into each (hundreds) file and renaming in the xref manager.

If anyone has a good Lisp for it, I would appreciate it if you would be willing to share.

I am already using the reference manager to change paths.

I came across this Lisp before; it is not really what I am looking for.

With it, I would still have to go into all the files and rename each xref...I might as well do it manually. 

I would like something as batch file rename, as they are all referring to the same place. Similar to reference manager with paths.
