"This DWG file was saved by an application that was not developed by Autodesk.."

Hi all!

Since today, whenever I try to open either a new file or an old one I get this message: "This DWG file was saved by an application that was not developed or licensed by Autodesk. What do you want to do?". (AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE SCREENSHOT)

The problem is that if I try to "Continue opening DWG file" the program gets stuck with the coloured wheel and doesn't open.

So there is actually no way to open it.

I tried to restart the computer and also reinstall the software, but none of them worked.

I have the newest version of Autocad for MAC.

Any suggestion?
THANKSSS

Try using -RECOVER to open the file. Were these files created or last saved using Autocad or a different software?

Warning: "Open - Foreign DWG File" message appears in AutoCAD

Hi,

>> whenever I try to open either a new file

Not sure about: "Open" or "create" a new file?

If you mean "create a new file" and that already shows this message means your template you used was created with a non-Autodesk product.

If you open a file that was created or modified by someone else then ask them, which software they were working with.

One option could be to save this file to DXF, close your file, open this DXF and save it as DWG, that should get rid of that message.

As you are working with a Mac you might also search in the forum for AutoCAD for Mac >>>there<<<.

Hi,

>> the problem is that now I cannot even create a new file

What does that mean in detail "cannot create a new file"?

It can be so much, from not finding the button or mouse does not work up to AutoCAD or your system crashes

Please describe step by step what you do and how AutoCAD reacts to that (showing dialogs, showing information in command line), this makes it easier for us to understand what happens currently on your system.
