"Contextual Tab State" Hatch creation

            Hello,

After upgrading from 2017 to 2018 it seems not all settings have been copied, for instance my "Contextual Tab State" Hatch creation.

See some printscreens beneath, more specifically the ribbon on top.

Does anybody know how I recover the "Contextual Tab State Hatch creation" in release 2018?

Thancks in advance.

Kind regards,

Smits Timmy

Hi,

as seen in below image .... i just want to remind you that you have to select the hatch items first to make ribbon contextual be visible. also make sure that RIBBONCONTEXTSELLIM have a proper value that make this option is available.

Command: RIBBONCONTEXTSELLIM
Enter new value for RIBBONCONTEXTSELLIM <2500>:

Hi,

if you did a default installation nothing should have changed.

When you start command _HATCH in AutoCAD 2018 (and you don't have ribbons disabled) you should get the full hatch ribbon display.

One way to disable the ribbon switching to the hatch-creation tab would be to modify the CUI. So let's see how your state is when you start command _CUI, on the left side in the tree go to ACAD ==> Ribbon ==> Contextual Tab States ==> Hatch Creation (be careful, there are more hatch.... items).

Now how is the "Contextual Display Type" set on the right side?

If it's not set to "Full with focus" ... then change it to "Full with focus"

Hi Alfred,
I checked my CUI.
In 2018: the right panel is empty (in the left panel: there is no subdirectory by Hatch Creation)
[cid:[email protected]]
In 2017: the right panel show some properties from the Hatch Creation Contextual Tab (for instance contextual Display Type = Full with Focus)
[cid:[email protected]]
I also tried a workspace-transfer from 2017 to 2018, but I can't get a Contextual Tab-directory under "Hatch Creation".

Hi,

>> the right panel is empty (in the left panel: there is no subdirectory by Hatch Creation)

That means that there were done some customizations (or maybe migration and that failed).

Start again command _CUI, and then right-click the ACAD on the top of the left tree ==> try first "Restore ACAD.CUIX", if that does not help then run "Reset ACAD.CUIX"

Good luck, - alfred -

Case closed. Thancks.

First I was a bit scaring. Ribbon couldn't be loaded.

But I reloaded my old workspace-setting: ribbon appeared and contextual tab state works!

Thancks a lot.

Hi,

It disappears every time you start AutoCAD or it disappears after you started command _HATCH?

And does it reappear when you start command _HATCH?

It is gone every time I start AutoCAD.

And reappears after calling on it in the bottom text field.

This is how contextual tabs are designed to work, so all looks well on your system.

When you start command _HATCH you can use the hatch options/edit hatch details in the ribbon. Whenever you are not inside the hatch command (or while editing a hatch) it does not make sense to waste the space with hatch options.
