QLEADER issues

Hi, I am currently still using Autocad 2013 and use Qleader for all my annotation, as I like to manually add text after placing the leader. Under qleader settings I have it set to 3 points with two straight lines. First segment is locked to increments of 15 degrees and second segment horizontal. All has been well for many years, however...
Recently I have found that whenever I initiate the qleader command, the command runs as it has always done except the rubberband preview is now missing while picking the points for the leader. After I have picked the 3rd (last) point the leader is then drawn correctly. Where has the preview gone. This preview is needed to help position the leader.
The issue seams to be triggered by setting the angle of the first and second line segments. If either/both of these are set to 'any angle' including horizontal, the preview disappears while that part of the segment is being drawn/picked.
Oddly, if I chose more than 3 points in the Qleader settings, picking the points for the first two segments still results in no preview, but the preview then appears while picking the remaining points.
I have searched for answers but can only find a few other people asking about this and none of them got a solution.
Probably unrelated, but my Logitech G613 keyboard seems to be screwing up my function keys around the same sort of time period
