Publishing - Temp folder in path

Hi guys

When I publish to PDF, our drawing path is showing as a temp folder.  Is there a way to publish within the working folder?  Or does it HAVE to temporarly publish it from the temp folder?  I have seen workarounds by changing the block fields, but thats not an option here.

Thanks

You can point PUBLISH to output to any folder you want: it remembers the last folder you selected, or if you've never selected one it default to the default folder you have now.

AFAIK It will not, by itself, decide the correct folder for you or aim for your 'current' file folder.

Tap the OPTIONS button in PUBLISH pop-up and explore.

Sorry, but thats not what I am asking.  We have a block on our drawings that show the path of our working drawings using a field.  But when I publish the drawings, it must temporarly store the drawing in a temp folder, as the filepath changes, shown below:

Without knowing what FIELD your block is using there is no answer: we use the filed FILENAME in our titleblcok and don't see the problem you describe when we PUBLISH sets.

I dont think it matters what the field is anyway, I just need to know if there is a way so it does not take the drawing into a temp folder while it publishes the drawing to PDF.  I think it may be because they are large files it needs to make a local copy while it publishes.

Nothing goes to any temp folder here when using PUBLISH command.

So what suddenly changed with your setup to trigger this error? Is this a new block, or you all get new versions of AutoCAD 2015 from 2001, or something else?

Nothing is wrong with the block.....?  It works fine with plain printing and PDFing, its only when you publish multiple drawings.  The problem is that the publish command is making a local copy of the drawing while it publishes

Sory, I can't replicate that problem here with PUBLISH command. Wait and see if others report similar issues and fixes.

There have been other people getting the same issue, but as I said on my original post, the other solutions is not suitable in my case.

Are you working off a network or locally? If it's network there may be security preventing publish operating properly, I don't have this problem either with local or network drawings

I am getting the exact same problem when I publish. It shows that the drawing is in my temp folder where in fact it isn't. KInd of makes the plot stamp useless for future locating of the file's original and actual location.

What's your FIELDEVAL system variable set to?

Solved...the one that was not co-operating had this "$(getvar, "dwgprefix")$(getvar, "dwgname") -$(edtime, 0, MON DD YYYY - H:MMam/pm) -" instead of a true set of fields looking for the info.

Filename field expression is "%<\AcVar Filename \f "%fn7">%" and set to "Path and filename"
