Publishing DWF/PDF with Sheet Set Properties in File Name

Greetings,

I think it's understood that we are currently (running 2015) unable to use properties from the Sheet or Sheet Set to build the file name of a DWF/PDF during publish.

Is there any reason we can't get an INSERT FIELD option (example image attached) on the Sheet Set Publish Options to build the file name dynamically? I'd like to feature request this if the functionality isn't achieved some other way.

If you go into the options you can specify the name.

Is this what you are looking for? Or, are you trying to print a subset for instance with the resulting PDF containing the subset name?

Specify the name is correct. Now, in the specification field ("Name"), I would like to be able to right click and select INSERT FIELD, which is an option available within the drawing itself. Naming conventions shouldn't be a manual operation. I should be able to build it from the sheet/sheet set properties.

If I could populate the Name with variables that reference properties from the Sheet Set, this would be a tremendous improvement. The Location should be configurable in the same way.

HI @Anonymous,

Cool idea! I am not sure how many users would find it useful but I think it is a great feature suggestion.

Thanks so much for your response.

A fellow who identified himself as a VP would call me from time to time to see how they could make their product a standard where I worked. I hope Autodesk is still receptive in the same way...
