Problem with inserting objects from different DWGs

Hi there,

I need to insert multiple drawings into one drawing. As there are hundreds of blocks with similar name but different attribute and shapes, after inserting they all mess up and I get wrong shapes and configurations.

What is the best way to have all those drawings in original appearance other than xref them? If I xref all drawing then moving around and working on this file would be so slow. Thank you very much in advance for the advice.

I'm not sure if this will work in your situation but have you tried Xref'ing and then Binding the different files?

From my experience, Xref'ing the files together really shouldn't be any slower than inserting them.

Give us an example of your files.
This should help you, the names of the blocks change to new names (see picture):

Thanks Brett, I have tried bind Xrefs but still experiencing slow moving, because I inserted 15 DWGs 6 Mb each.

XREF is usually a better option than inserting as far as performance goes. Do not bind them as this is the same as inserting them.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
