Problem Showing Heights

I have a problem opening a dwg file sending on mail. On any PC I open it, it shows the heights. On my PC they just disappear. I don't know if something is wrong  with the settings of the software. I use Autodesk AutoCad 2014 (Same on all PCs I opened the file).

Hi,

>> On any PC I open it, it shows the heights. On my PC they just disappear.

Can you please show us 2 screenshots, one from your workstation and one from the other workstations. (in case it is necessary please mark the part so we can find the differences easier.

To show "height" can be so much, like Z-values in attributes or geometry at elevation or geometry like surfaces or 3D-solids ...

One idea at the start: if it's a graphic issue (objects disappearing when you change to a 3D-view or another visual style you might try to disable hardware acceleration using command _GRAPHICSCONFIG.

Hi,

>> ok. how about now?
Thank you, edit worked.

What I see now are red markers around some cyan arrows or lines with points or maybe block-insertions, which types of objects are they and where are you expecting "showing heights".

Sorry to bother you, be I don't what you expect? A text showing a height value, or a block with an attribute showing a height value or an object that should be positioned at an elevation ...

Please let us know what exactly you are missing and I guess best would be to upload the drawing (or a copy of the drawing with some of that objects.

In generall when text like objects are invisible:

  • Make sure all layers are thawed and on
  • Try sysvar ANNOALLVISIBLE to see them independent of annotation scale

Hi,

what have you tried from my previous suggestions?

what object types are these elements?

is it possible to get a drawing with a few of that objects?

Hi,

thank you for the drawing!

And sorry, I can see all the text objects 😉

Please start command _STYLE, in the dialog select on the left side "TXT50", then look to the field "Font Name", it shows "Arial Narrow" ==> does that show a yellow warning mark in that field?

If you follow these steps:

  • _COPYBASE, basepoint 0,0,0 and use option "_ALL" to have all objects selected in the modelspace
  • create a new drawing
  • _PASTECLIP, basepoint 0,0,0 ==> are the text objects now visible?

Hi,

Yes, but it's always the last step I try as your customization's are reset too.

Here's the link with a description about >>>reset settings to default<<<

Hi @Anonymous!

You seem  to have uploaded a WBlock of the original drawing.. The texts in the uploaded file weren't annotative, but just as precaution - could you set  "ANNOALLVISIBLE" to "1" in the original file and see what happens? (In case there were different annotation scales than the current one?)

Other side notice (but important though):

Some of the lines that are supposed tjo be 2D are actually 3D.. Try holding Shift+Dragging the middle mouse button to orbit)

This can mess up your measurements and snaps.......
