Problem's trying to center a print of a layout to PDF

Hello everyone.

My question concerns getting the drawing centered when I print to PDF using the layout plot area. When I try to do it the drawing ends up being at the bottom left of the print space. See attached pictures for a visual of what I'm talking about. 

I've tried playing with the options and searching the web many times but haven't found the same issue get resolved. So I apologize, I'm sure its something simple I'm not thinking about. As a work around, I have just been selecting 'window' in the Plot area drop down menu and manually centering the drawing by eye. This works ok but its annoying that it won't do it automatically.  

Any tips would be appreciated,

I think all you have to do is in your page setup indicate the appropriate X and Y plot offset values that move the print away from the lower-left corner an amount that matches the "margin" outside the border line.

EXTENTS may be the better option for you, and don't forget to "center" either: just make sure you understand what that option means
