problem in copy and paste

Good day,

I am facing an issue when copying and pasting text, fonts, or any objects from one drawing to another in AutoCAD. When I paste them into the destination drawing, AutoCAD freezes and becomes unresponsive. I am then forced to close AutoCAD using Task Manager.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?

Thank you.

@ahmadjamal1975

Your AutoCAD version is what as listed by ABOUT command inside the program...?

And your OS is....?

Has this always been a problem, or is it a new one that just started today?

Did you get a new PC too? new install?

When was the last time you restarted your PC?
When was the last time you cleared your OS Login temp folder?

If you are copying-and-pasting from one drawing to another, then do this.....

  1. In current drawing, select object(s).
  2. Right-click=>Clipboard=>Copy with base point=>Click (select) your base point......OR manually enter 0,0 on command line.
  3. In destination drawing......right click=>Clipboard=>click at your insertion point.....OR choose Paste to original coordinates......OR manually enter 0,0 on command line.

Check this:

Try one of the following:

  • Set the DRAWORDERCTL system variable to 0If you need to transfer objects immediately, use WBLOCK/INSERT or DesignCenter to bypass the Windows clipboard entirely

Copy and paste from clipboard takes a long time in AutoCAD
