The STRETCH command may work, what object type do you wish to scale?

I just want to scale up some line segments in order to see them more clearly.

Hi,

>> how do I scale my object without scaling it in both directions? <<

either you insert your elements as block or xref and while the procedure play with X , Y factors as your need .

Sounds like the EXTEND command, using the FENCE option may work.

what I ended up having to do was to turn my object into a W-Block and insert the object and change the scaling along the Y.  thanks.

it was a little more work than I wanted to do but it did the job.

There are routines out there that will automate that for you, for instance this one.  I think that one does it by Block rather than Wblock, but the concept is essentially the same.  Some Searching will probably find others.

Kent's answer is the best:
command BLOCK.

Occasionally I will take a lattice hatch pattern and Copy-clip/Paste the
hatch as a unnamed block, then play with the x-scale to be 0.707
(first "flatten" the hatch field).
