Printing very large custom sheet - preview good - rotated 90 degrees??

I remember having this issue probably 20 yrs ago as well.  I am trying to print a drawing sheet that is about 70"x30".  I created a Post Script Custom Sheet Size and saved it.  The preview looks great and then hit print.  It saves to pdf but the pdf is rotated 90 degrees for some reason.  Please advise.

Print setup -

Print preview -

saved to pdf -

It seems to rotated the printed area 180 degrees to the preview and rotates the window 90 degrees.  Any tips greatly appreciated.  I'm a little surprised this problem still exists after all of these years.

Regards Peter.

Hi,

am I correct that this does not happen, when you use "AutoCAD PDF (General Documentation).pc3" instead the Bluebeam driver?

Why do you use the Bluebeam driver instead the AutoCAD internal one?

I will use any one that works.  I have now tried the one you suggested and it gives me an error and will not print.  I use Bluebeam because I own Bluebeam and it is my preferred pdf viewer.

I have setup a configuration file but it does not keep the settings.  It always askes me to pick another configuration file.

I select my custom paper size - (70.00 x 30.00 inches) and it opens the plot window with the page setup missing and the printer/plotter setup also missing -

So I pick the correct page setup and Printer/ plotter again and Apply to Layout -

When I hit preview, it just flashes and does not show preview.  If I hit OK to print.  It gives me an error.

When I go back and print again I lose all the settings even though I applied to Layout.  Just trying to get this to plot in the right orientation, or get it to plot anything.  LOL

Thanks - I might have to as Autodesk print drivers are worse and won't let me even create a pdf.

It's a plotter parameter that is rotating your drawing.

Activate the ''Turn Page 90 degrees (Save Paper)'' option via Properties dialogue box.  Check that box and re-send your job. Should work now...

Hi,

>> I have now tried the one you suggested and it gives

>> me an error and will not print

Which error, and does this only happen when you run _PUBLISH or also when running _PLOT?

(missing media is a warning .. to add the paper size)

When using the pdf driver, whether Bluebeam or Autodesk there is no plotter parameter.

What do you mean by "plotter parameter"?

I use Print / Plot. The error is the one I posted above -

I have not tried _Publish.  I'll take a look at that but I should be able to just plot this right?

Hi,

It should plot, but only when you answer the message correct when you were asked to assign the user specified paperformat (as you showed in post 4, there you should have selected second option for just one plot, or 3rd option if you want to keep this size for future plots).

You might upload the dwg if you want is to check this.

Of course.  I selected both options and no dice.  Always the same error.  It looks like the _publish may work.  Just seems silly as I remember having this issue 20yrs ago when I was printing large custom sized sheets.  I've been using Revit for 17 yrs without this issue.  I have to use AutoCAD for this file and it's very frustrating.  Thanks.

Hi,

if you show me a drawing with a layout, I can test it on my system.

don't worry about it.  I think I might be able to get it to print using the _publish.  I actually do not have a layout.  It's all in model space.  Maybe that is the issue?  I might give that a try as well.  Thanks.
