Printing - No Preview, and no Printing

Just finished this drawing, saved it, go to print it out, and everything looks normal on the Print menu screen, but when I click "Print Preview", it blips like it's about to change to the Print Preview screen, then doesn't, it just goes back to the print menu screen.  I can't see what the error message is because it comes up and disappears too quickly.  So, I've included the drawing.

Any ideas, folks?

Hi,

Your Ricoh printer is assigned but obviously not recognized here.  I chose the DWG to PDF print emulator and 11x8.5 paper.  The print preview worked.  Not sure what your Ricoh settings are doing?

Hi,

I opened your drawing, as the layouts are not prepared (which would be the better way to use plot functionality) I run command _PLOT in modelspace ... as I don't have your printer I changed to device "DWG to PDF.pc3" and clicked on button "Preview" ... worked well.

Can you try to switch to another device like I did?

Thankyou Gents,

It was indeed, a printer error, which is strange as I had no problems using it this morning...

Apologies for the time waster.  Thanks for your speedy response though!

Apparently, NOT solved...

I tried a different drawing, same problem.

I tried a different paper size (was 11x17, now 8.5x11), no problem at all.

I tried a different program with 11x17 paper (Adobe Acrobat Pro), no problem at all.

Then I tried sitting here and scratching my head.  It didn't solve my problem, but it did stop the itchy head that I had.

Ideas, anyone?

Cheers, happy new year!

Hi,

>> I tried a different drawing, same problem.

Same with "DWG to PDF.pc3" as output device? (I don't trust the Adobe PDF at all) 😉

When I printed to a PDF, then opened and printed the PDF, that print was good - right image, right shape, size and colour, right paper size, no problems.  But why would I want to convert every drawing to a PDF just to print it??  I wouldn't, right?

What confuses me is why I CAN print at a different paper size, and I can print from a different program at my desired paper size.  As if it's just one specific size of paper in one specific program...

Hi,

It's just a proof if the drawing has defects or the driver has defects.

If the drawing works well with another driver then most probably you have troubles with your printer driver.

You can either update (or downgrade) the printer driver, but my first try would be to create a new PC3 file for this printer.

P...C...3...   file?

Unfortunately, I'm on hold at the moment, apparently there is a licensing issue (possibly just because of the new year?), so I'm temporarily locked out of ACAD, else I would have better answers for you.
