polyline selection runs pedit

Hi

 When I select a polyline it runs the pedit command instead of displaying my quick properties. The quick properties works for other objects.  Any idea how I can turn this off?

For clarification, when you click on a polyline it automatically starts the Pedit command? Or, is this result when you rt-click?

when I left click on a polyline the pedit command automatically functions with a in place menu.  It wasn't always like this I don't know what I've changed. I like to run the quick properties when I select an object to either edit or view information on the object. As I mentioned the QP works for other object types.

Hi westhab,

Can you try a Reset settings to default to see if that fixes the problem? When you run this it will let you back up your customizations so you can get them back.

If you like, you can compare your system variables before and after you run this command. This would tell us what has been changed. To list your system variables you can run the command from your Express Tools called System Variables.

Are you sure that you are not double left clicking the object?  Pedit would be the default action for that.  Double click actions are configurable.  I do not believe single click actions are.

You are right! That is a double left click. And that would normally have brought up my quick properties.

Ha! So, with PICKFIRST set to 1 and QPmode turned on, if I select (single-click) a polyline I get the quick properties window. If I double-click I get PEDIT.

Is this not what you are seeing?

When I left click once I only see the grips.  When I click again I get the pedit command where I used to see the QP.

Try turning off QPmode and then turning off PICKFIRST (0). Then turn PICKFIRST back on (1) and then turn QPMODE to on.

Does that work for you?

No. i'm not prepared to do that yet. I'm engaged in something needs my constant attention. Don't want to any chance that I'll lose something else.

If you turn on quick properties (status line icon on), the  a single left click will display the quick properties.  That is the accepted workflow.  Setting quick properties to be a double click action is bad as the pedit command is a much better choice.

There is a chance, since you had qpmode = 1 and picfirst = 1 that quick properties is showing up but is off your screen.  A reinstall might fix that.  You could try resetting your profile first and seeing if the dialogs return to the screen in their default locations.

It appears that going into block editor causes some problems with QP.  I was in there earlier this week. The Service pak for 2016 is supposed to correct this but i guess it didn't.  I went to check the QP mode it was at 0. I set it to 1. Now it appears I'm back to single left click for QP on polylines!
