Points in wrong location

Please assist me.

After calculating the traverse, I plotted my points in auto cad. My first two stations seemed to be in the right location, however, the other 3 stations were either in the wrong location and both wrong direction and location. The outline seems to be fine for each station but why are they projected badly.

Please help me!!:

I did it by manually moving the points into position...the thing is, I cant derive the contours from it accurately.

@shenelle_12

why you can not drive contours correctly?

I think this situation started after calculation of the traverse. I wasn't sure what caused the values to be off when plotting it. The contour had an irregular shape from what its supposed to look like.

Hi @shenelle_12,  Are you using AutoCAD or Civil 3D to do this?

This is something that would much easier in Civil 3D. Is there a reason you are not using Civil 3D?

no big reason in particular other than I'm not a big user of either autoCad or Civil 3d

If you have access to Civil 3D I would recommend it for this. If you are a student you could get the student version. It has built in features for civil engineering and survey. You could then get help in the CIVIL 3D FORUM.

I am a student and we all have been using AutoCad to complete the assignment.

If your class is using AutoCAD to do it then I understand. It is just much more challenging to do points and contours with AutoCAD.  There are a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum though so someone should be able to help you out.

the contours i'm not too worried about its the initial issue where I plot the points and they are not turning up in the right location.

How do you know the points are in the wrong places?

From my previous posts, I would have shown what the results ought to be from what is. I know this because I was part of the process from the very beginning, from going out to the field with the total station and levelling to the calculation of the traverse. The last part of my assignment is to plot the point on AutoCAD and submit the accurate projection. I'm not sure where we would have gone wrong; from the interpretation of the angles to the calculation of the traverse and the x,y,z coordinates. After plotting the points, I recognized that the stations overlapped on other stations, either oriented 90 degrees off or just wrong position altogether.
