Point in Drawing Causing Fatal Error and Crash, Can't be Selected

I received a 2007 drawing from an engineer that cuased unhandled exception errors when opened. It couldn't be saved as a 2013 DWG (the version I have), as I got a "One or more objects ... cannot be saved ..." error. I was able to save as a DXF and delete everything in the drawing except for a point that, when you hover the cursor over it, causes AutoCAD to crash with a fatal error. I call it a point because it doesn't change size when zoomed, but it can't be selected. I've erased everything in the drawing and purged to only layer 0, with no other objects, and a select all results in nothing selected. I put a rectangle around it and made a viewport on a layout. While in model space in the viewport I can see the point. Once I switch back to paper space the point disappears. We are baffled at my office as to the identity of this "AutoCAD Black Hole". I've attached the file I was using in case anyone cares to figure it out. The point in question is inside the rectangle.

I don't see any "Point" inside the rectangle. What does it look like? If it looks like this gm.PNG then that's the Geomarker. But that shouldn't cause a crash. If you List the area using a Window. What do you get?

That's exactly what it looks like! Hovering over that geomarker causes a fatal error and a crash. A list and window results in nothing. It's like it doesn't exist. Did you get the unhandled exception errors when you opened the file?

Edit: I changed the GEOMARKERVISIBILITY to 0 and it disappeared. But I still can't save the file as a DWG. And it still gives unhandled exception errors when opening.

Have you ran an AUDIT on the drawing?

Works fine for me.  See attached dwg...

After AUDITing, I get  a message saying "Program Errors were detected. Recommend that you save your work and restart the program."

After fixing the errors found, I could save as a DWG. However, opening that DWG results in an immediate fatal error crash. I did an AUDIT without fixing errors, and got this line in the results:

Pass 1 600 objects auditedAeccDbRootSettingsNode(8805B) was not repaired.

Same on Pass 2. Could that be the cause of the problem? The unhandled exception errors refer to aecdbase.dbx ARX Command and aeccvbase.dbx ARX Command.

I downloaded your attachment and got the same unhandled exception errors, and also a fatal error crash when I hovered over the Geomarker. Clearly there's something wrong with my computer's setup. In fact, all my coworkers and I get unhandled exception errors quite often when we close AutoCAD. Our AutoCAD administrator said it's related to being on AutoCAD 2013, but hasn't really answered it nor fixed it. I don't think he knows what the problem is.

Anyway, thanks for helping out.

Do you guys have all the service packs installed?

According to the About screen, I have Product Version: G.204.0.0, AutoCAD 2013 SP2. We also have Tyco's SprinkCAD fire sprinkler design suite installed, which I suspect may cause a lot of the issues we tend to have.
