i have foggoten some of the procedures of plotting. can some one remind me in summary form. as in

mv setup-no-m-scale-paperwidth-------- .after completing this process and opening layer what next

It would be helpful when you post if you told us what software and what version you are using.

There are hundreds of tutorials, videos and step-by-step instructions available online for plotting, pre-setup to post.  You need to be very specific on what you are trying to accomplish; how many pages, standard paper sizes vs custom, type of plot (paper, pdf, dwf, etc).
