Plotting with hatch pattern takes a long time to process

Hello,

I'm working in AutoCAD 2016.  When I plot a drawing that has hatching (solid hatch 75% transparency) it takes a long time for the plotter to process.

I'm using the hatching for presentation purposes.  I'd waited up to 45 mins for a plot.  Any suggestions?

Hi,

plot to PDF (or DWF) and use Adobe Reader (or Autodesk Design Review) to plot the PDF (DWF) then to the plotter,

Transparency means first calculate a raster and then send it to the plotter ... managing sometime multiple GB of data.

What's your plotter? What driver are you using? How much of a hatch pattern covers your model, how many fragments of hatches are there? How are you connected to that plotter.

All these things affect output, so your very basic question has no quick easy miracle cure without you sharing a ton more details. Do tell, and share with us your DWG file.

I tried what you'd suggest and that didn't work.  The message read"document did not print, there were no pages selected".  I tried it again and selected current view but got the same result.

Hi,

I'm plotting to a HP Designjet T790.  I'm connected to a network.  I don't know what type of driver is being used.  I'm using one type of hatch, solid.

I would say the hatch patterns are covering 1/3 of my drawing.
