Plotting a sheet with a polygonal viewport

We have seen repeated problems with plotting sheets that have polygonal viewports. The most recent will create a file size of 10 mb when using a bluebeam driver. This makes the entire PDF enormous when trying to plot a large set. So, we switched to using the dwg to PDF.pc3 and the file size was much smaller and what we expected, but when we printed a hard copy from the PDF it took the sheets with the polygonal viewports up to 2 minutes each to print. Are others experiencing this? If so, have you found a work around? We are using Civil 3d 2018.

Most likely you turned on transparency.
If this is so before the file becomes very large and heavy.
Turn off transparency.
