hi there,

i have an issue with plotting styles, i need to get a drawing sent off this morning, my normal thin style 9-2-18 always prints thin and black and white

one of the pdf's attached is fine and one prints with colour, maybe to do with true colour in the actual cad file which originally was someone else's

i need all my pdf's to print black and white, can anyone help?

Hi @Anonymous,

I didn't have your plot style so I could not check my results but I went into layer property manager and changed the layer colors to all Index colors.  Can you see if this file behaves?  Some of the TrueColors might also be assigned directly to objects but let's start here to see if it fixes the issue.

Hi @Anonymous,

You can put your files into a Zip to attach or you can email to me directly at john.vellek@autodesk.com.  Please put the URL of this thread in the email so I can find our conversation more easily.

Are you concerned about the color of the logo? That will always print in color so I would need a monochrome version. If you send me that file too I can try to get that done too.

Hi @Anonymous,

You sent me your file and I remapped every layer color that had a TrueColor value to a similar Indes color.  I then used SETBYLAYER to change the color of all objects in the drawing to BYlayer.

I hope this gets everything into B/W as you requested.

Hi @richyrich0000,

You sent me another email this morning for clarification on how I went through the steps I mentioned in this thread.

I made a video that shows how you can sort in the Layer Properties Manger to find the non-index colored layers. You can then select one or more and assign them to and Index color.  Next I show how you can use the SETBYLAYER command to change the color of all geometry to be BYLAYER.

Lastly I run Audit, Purge, and -Pu>Regapps to clean up the file and to reduce it's size.
