Plot scale

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and desperately want to know the difference between Plot scale on the Plot - Layout1 and the the scale choices on the bottom right corner of the viewport I made.  I also attach 2 images here for your reference.  My colleagues told me that it is the government's requirement that every drawing submitted to them should be on a scale of 1 : 100.   However, sometimes  I find it difficult to use such a scale.  Would your guys please offer some helps?

Not sure how that # is showing up.

But if you're drawing 1 unit = 1 Meter then in Layout when you set up your paper in mm then the vport zoom scale factor for 1:100 is 1/0.100xp = 10.

But if you're drawing 1 unit = 1 mm then in Layout when you set up your paper in mm then the vport zoom scale factor for 1:100 is 1/100xp = 0.01.

Now as for this scale being a requirement and you're having trouble fitting your entire design drawing using this scale, there are two options:

1. Change your paper size from A3 to something larger like A2 or A1 and even A0.

2. But if A3 is also the required paper size then the 2nd option is to divide your drawing into quadrants and have a keymap that shows which quadrant you're showing on that particular sheet.
