Plot/Print differing between ACAD 2020 and 2022

Hello all,

we were sticking with AutoCAD 2020 for a while, but I decided to try 2022 and see how it was. I've noticed an issue though that's going to prevent us from moving up - drawings will print differently between 2020 and 2022. Printing to letter-size will cut off the bottom of our border, and printing to PDF will remove all margins.

Our company has used the same template for a very long time, and do everything in model space. I know the benefits of paper space and the like, but the old guard isn't likely to change on this.

I've checked plot settings and Plot and Publish under application options, and there doesn't seem to be anything different between the two. Also doubled checked the plotter properties and it seems the same there too.

So what's causing these two versions to print the same drawing completely differently?

I'll see if I can post the .dwg and two .pdf's in a comment - it's not letting me attach them currently (the file type (.dwg) is not supported.?)

Thanks kindly!

Apparently only the quick reply is showing the attachment field. Files attached.

IF you only wish to use your Adobe Acrobat PDF driver, you'll need to ask over at Adobe's forums for help with the issue https://community.adobe.com/

If you want to use one of the 5 core PDF drivers in each of 2020 and 2022 and still see the issue, post back with examples and PLOT command pop-up settings from each of your modelspace content just before you tap OK.

We are not seeing any differences at all. None. Zip.

Thanks for the reply, and apologies on the response delay,

I'll have to look into the Adobe ones - I've found that the other PDF options haven't printed off the way we want them to. However, the issue isn't limited to just the PDF prints - attached is a PDF of scans of the prints that came from the drawings. You'll notice that in the 2022 print, it's missing the bottom of the border. Just had a heck of a time getting it to print in the first place - ACAD2022 started hating our main printer and wouldn't send anything to it, but it did go to a secondary. ACAD2020 didn't have the issue.

Anyways, I'll have to pick this up come Monday, I'm outta here!

@thenottakenname ,

Use the Page Setup Manager with DWG to PDF setting to avoid any cut-off (define the plot area by selecting the Window option).  Also use a page size that has smaller margins or no margins (such as Extended, Expanded, or Full Bleed).

I recommend the suggested solutions from these topics:

I believe it is your printed paper size.

If I use ANSI 11x8.5 I get the one maxed to the edges.

But if I use ANSI Expand A (11x8.5) I get what you show as the one you want to use.

If you use this you don't have to make any other changes.

Just pick this size, Fit, done.

Hope this helps.

JRR.
